- Forces You out of your comfort zone
Since the goal of CrossFit is to always be pushing boundaries, you will find your comfort zone keeps expanding. Then when it expands you push it again. This gives you a sense of accomplishment and growth. As women we need to feel challenged and a sense of accomplishment that is our own. Something that defines us outside of our relationships and career. Constantly finding new boundaries to push enables us to activate our primal instinct to grow as humans.
- Never boring – new things all the time
You will never here a CrossFitter say they are bored. There are hundreds of different kinds of movements you can do and CrossFit will be constantly switching them up. You probably won’t do the same workout more than twice in a year. Of course when it does come up again you’ve made so many strides that this time you’re doing it faster or with more weight. If you run 2 miles everyday you may find that working out becomes a chore. Knowing that you can constantly be learning new things will allow exercise to be exiting.
- Improved Mobility and Flexibility
If you constantly feel like you are out of shape or tension throughout your body, chances are you suffer from limited mobility. One of the top 10 reasons women should CrossFit is the increase in the range of motion they will obtain. While its well known that CrossFit will increase your strength and endurance, it is also a major part of the programming to focus on stretches and mobility exercises. In the end you shouldn’t be able just to lift more weight, you should also be able to have a more dynamic range of motion.
9. Builds Confidence
Setting goals and reaching them is one of the greatest naturals highs that exists. The more you repetitively perform a task and perform it well, the more confident you become. Think about beginning your day with a a difficult task. If you not only accomplish it but excel at it you are going to approach the rest of your day from a point of confidence. For the rest of the day you will ride off of that confidence you built first thing in the morning.
- Promotes clean eating
80% of being healthy is eating healthy. Many women struggle with sticking to a clean diet because it is hard to ignore inner cravings. Weight loss or other goals can be long term and not immediate, therefor making it harder to follow through with. When working towards a new lifting goal or a faster workout time you will see direct effects based on what you ate the day before. Wanting improve in something that makes you happy, such as CrossFit, will help with motivation to eat healthier.
